With over 35 years experience as a professional dressmaker I am now enjoying passing on some of my skills and experience to those who would like to learn to sew or improve their home dressmaking skills.

About Me
I have over thirty five years experience in the fashion industry formally specialising in made to measure dressmaking services including extensive experience in the formal and bridal industry.
​
My background includes ten years with well known Melbourne fashion houses where I gained considerable experience in my field. I ran my business at first in Melbourne then Sydney for twenty years. I moved my dressmaking business Noosa Heads seven years ago. A few samples of my previous work can be found here.

I have now decided to retire from dressmaking and spend some of my time on my love of teaching people to sew. I have taught sewing now for over 10 years. My aim is to pass on some of my skills and experience to those new to sewing or those who would like to improve their own skills.

General Sewing
Private Tuition
Classes run from my workroom in groups of no more than two or three students. One on one tuition is also available if you wish.
You would be grouped by your levels of experience and the type of assistance required, this could be from learning basic skills, assisting you to make a garment from a commercial pattern or more advanced skills.

Classes can be organised at a time to suite.

Class Types
Beginners
The course will cover:

How to use a sewing machine.

How to read and understand a commercial pattern

How to layout and cut your fabric

How to select appropriate fabrics

Basic sewing techniques which would include:

Fees - Class of two students $60.00 per student (two hour class).
General Sewing
Private Tuition
I run classes ranging from single two hour sessions for those who have completed the beginners course or have some previous experience and would like to learn a specific techniques or improve their skills. I also run week to week classes for those who would prefer on going tuition to gradually build up their skills and enjoy the experience of sewing in a small group.
Fees - Class of two students $60.00 per student (two hour class).
